About Heurist Help

This Help documentation (for Heurist V3.4) is divided into a number of sections to assist you in creating, populating and using a Heurist database.

Introduction

This describes how to get started using Heurist by registering as a new user and then either creating a first database (you can only create subsequent databases from within an existing database) or opening an existing database that you have been given access to.

Define a Database

This describes how to build a new database once you have registered as a new user. It describes how to:

  • Create a new database
  • Register the database
  • Set the database properties        
  • Import an existing database structure or  documented record types (annotated templates)
  • Define the database structure (i.e. record and field types)
  • View the database structure

Manage Records

This describes how to manage your records and data within your database. It describes how to:

  • Enter data

  • Export data

Modify your User Profile

This describes how to view and edit your user settings, including your user-defined tags and any reminders. It also describes how to export your user data.

Database Administration

This provides information on various administration and maintenance tasks you can carry out on your database. It describes how to:

  • Manage database access.
  • Manage your data, including cloning and deleting the database, clearing database records and rolling back the database.
  • Maintain the database. This covers checking the validity of the database and highlighting and fixing any issues.
