Defining your database structure involves defining the set of record types that comprise the database.
However, you can optionally import an existing database structure from a database registered on the Heurist Index or import individual record types available via 'Annotated Templates'.
If a similar database exists (either one you have created or one created by someone with similar interests or a standard Heurist database) and is registered on the Heurist Index, you can copy all or part of the data structure of this database into your database (i.e. record types, field types and terms*).
Once imported, you can then, if required, modify the database structure.
Additionally or alternatively, you can import predefined record types from a set of records types designed for many typical database usages. These record types, along with detailed descriptions, can be previewed on the 'Annotated Templates' page on the Heurist Network site prior to import.
