Short description
F W Thomas enlisted in January 1916 for World War I service. Shortly afterwards, he  applied for a Commission as Lieutenant which was granted on 1 October, 1916.
He embarked from Melbourne on HMAT Nestor on February 28 1918 with a Special Draft of A.I.F. Officers with the rank of 2nd Lieutenant. He served on the Western Front.
He enlisted again to serve in World War II at Booleroo, South Australia when he was 51 years old. He served as a Lieutenant with the 10th (Lower/Mid North S.A. Battalion Volunteer Defence Corps.
