Mr W.S.S. was active in the cadet force before and after serving in WWI. Towards the end of the war, he worked four and a half months at a paper mill in Aberdeen, England to gain experience in the paper industry. A schoolmaster before the war, he resumed his position upon return to Australia at the same college. He also got married after his stint at the paper mill and returned to Australia with his wife.
