Short description
After serving in Egypt, F L Wall was seconded to 9th Field Ambulance at Gallipoli and was in charge of a forward Aid Post at Lone Pine in August 1915. He then joined the 6th Infantry Battalion as a Medical officer. He was transferred to France and earned a Military Cross for constant devotion to duty at Pozieres in mid 1916. By 1918, with the rank of Major with the 7th Field Ambulance he was awarded the Croix de Guerre for continuous bravery. He was Mentioned in Dispatches on 2 occasions.
In World War II he served as Lieutenant Colonel, at Milne Bay, Papua, Commanding Officer of 110 Casualty Clearing Station and served also at Tarakan, Borneo.
