Short description
L J Pellew applied for a commission with the Royal Army Medical Corps at the outbreak of World War I and left for England with his wife and family in May 1915. He joined the RAMC at that time and was posted to France to the 21st Casualty Clearing Station where he was quickly recognised to be a capable surgeon. He was Mentioned in Dispatches.
