C.M.G., V.D., Arts : Lieutenant-Colonel, 12th A.L.H. Regt., A.I.F., Gallipoli and France. Appointed lieutenant-colonel to command 12th A.L.H. Regt. 16th March, 1915, and, arriving at Anzac in August, was attached to 10th A.L.H. on 30th. Commanded 60th Battn. at Salisbury Plain in 1916--17 and, crossing to France in October, was, for a time, attached to 30th Battn. and 3rd Divisional H.Q. Appointment terminated 22nd June, 1918. Made a C.M.G. in 1917. Early education at The Hutchins School, Hobart.
