Launceston C.E.G.S. and W.C.; dux of Wesley 1913; Queen's; 3rd year Engineering; 2nd class and exhibition in Graphics and in Mech. Drawing, 1st class and exhibition in Nat. Phil. II. and Surveying I.; College XL, XVIII., and athletics; held commission in M.U.R.
3.1.16, Spr. 10th F.C.E.; sailed 20.6.16; Cpl. 23.2.17; came out at top of his N.C.O. School; went to the front November 1916; transf. A.F.C. 20.4.17; 2/Lt. 26.7.17; twice wounded in August 1917 (once in 21 places); Lieut. 26.10.17; returned to France February 1918. While acting as observer on 12th April 1918 the plane crashed, and he was killed instantly.
