M.C.E.G.S., where he twice won the Witherby Scholarship; 4th year
Med.
2.10.14; sailed 22.12.14, Cpl. 14th Btn.; at Gallipoli landing; wounded 12.5.15; and in hospital in Egypt and England till December; discharged from A.I.F. as medically unfit 22.12.15, but commissioned in the Imperial Army as 2 Lieut. 4th Yorks Regiment; to France May 1916.
Killed instantaneously by a shell at Butte de Warlencourt on 25th October 1916.
