Re-enlisted three days later as Gnr. 8th F.A.B., and sailed 20.5.16; Medium T.M.B. 15.9.16; Cpl. 20.2.17; 2/Lt. 6.10.17; 7th F.A.B. 28.10.17; Lieut. 6.1.18; 6th M.T.M.B. 15.2.18. Awarded M.C. March 1918.
Killed instantly by shell fire near St. Quentin on 1st September 1918.
