Surgery 1916, and Examiner in same subject at Dental Hospital 1918; champion of Wesley in swimming 1907-1910; had rescued eight people from drowning; gymnastics champion of All Saints 1905, and of Wesley 1908 and 1910; a prefect of Wesley, captain of boats, and vice-captain of cricket and football teams; Univ. double blue (football and rowing), rowed in twelve winning crews at school and University; two years in succession gold medallist at Daylesford for violin playing under 16.
