STEWART, CEDRIC ALWYN. 1909.
Hawthorn Coll. and S.C.; Ormond; M.D., B.S.; first class and divided exhibition in Physiology 3rd year; in finals, 1st class in Med., 1st class and divided exhibition in Surgery, 1st class in Gynaecology; one year Resident Melbourne Hospital, two years Medical Superintendent Alfred Hospital; gained his M.D. by research work and book on cerebra-spinal meningitis, written in conjunction with Dr. N. H. Fairley; inter-Univ. rifle team.
February 1917, A.A.M.C., Capt.; T Major March; six months in England, where he instituted orthopaedic work under Sir Robert Jones; France January 1918; at Boulogne two months, then with 1st Fld. Amb. till sent as R.M.O. to 1st F.A. Bde.
On 28th April 1918, while the battery was under heavy fire, he was attending to a wounded officer, when he was struck by a H.E. shell, and died in a few minutes.
