Melb. H.S., where he gained a Government exhibition, being fourth on the list; Teachers' Coll.; took Dip. Ed. and Secondary Teachers' Certificate; Science and Math. master and sports master Hamilton H.S. 1916.
22.1.17, Cycle Corps; transf. to Engrs. 28.7.17; after training in England went to France 31.10.17; Spr. 5th F.C.E. 3rd November; transf. temp. to 2nd Div. Sig. Coy. 26.3.18; chiefly at work on line repair and construction about Amiens, Albert, and Allonville.
On 18th August 1918, while out repairing a break in a line, he was killed instantaneously by a piece of bursting shell.
