25.1.15, sailed 8.5.15, Pte 21st Btn.; Sgt. 6.5.16; T/C.S.M. (W.O.H.) 23.8.16; on torpedoed Southland; wounded on Gallipoli and invalided to Malta; rejoined unit and went to France. He was recommended for the M.M., and was next on the roll for commission, when he was killed in action at Fiers on 12th November 1916.
