M.B., Ch.M.; F.R.C.S. (Edin.), Demonstrator in Anatomy : Lieutenant-Colonel, A.A.M.C., A.I.F., Gallipoli, Egypt and France. Enlisting 2nd October, 1914, and sailing 22nd December as R.M.O. 13th Battn., served in Egypt and Gallipoli, where wounded in June, 1915, and with No. 2 Australian Stationary Hospital from 25th October at Lemnos and Tel-el-Kebir. Joining 15th Australian Field Ambulance 23rd October, 1916, in France, remained with it until 11th November, 1917, when transferred to No. 1 Australian General Hospital, Rouen, returning to Australia in July, 1918. Promoted major, 6th February, 1916; temporary lieutenant-colonel, 21st October, 1917. Early education at King's College, Goulburn.
