B.E. : Sapper, 14th Field Coy., Engineers, A.I.F., France. Enlisting in August and sailing with 12th Reinforcements 1st Coy. n th December, 1915, crossed to France after six months in Egypt and made a survey of a section of trenches for the action at Fromelles, serving at Flers, Gueudecourt, Bapaume and Ypres till death.Killed in Action, Westhoek, 30th October, 1917, and buried hard by at Cross Roads, 1,000 yards east of village, alongside Westhoek- Zonnebeke Road. Commemorated in Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial. Early education at Paddington Public School and The Scots College.  He has done excellent survey work for the Company and his loss is regretted by all.
