M.B., Ch.M. : Captain, A.A.M.C., A.I.F., Egypt, Gallipoli and France. Enlisting in November, 1914, joined No. 1 Australian General Hospital, Heliopolis, was M.O. at Abbassia and later R.M.O. 18th Battn. at Gallipoli until the Evacuation. On return to Egypt was appointed R.M.O. 24th Battn., crossing to France in March, 1916, and serving till death. Mentioned in Despatches. Killed in Action, Pozieres, 7th August, 1916, and buried in Becourt Military Cemetery. President, Brisbane General and Children's Hospitals. Early education at Brisbane Grammar School. Later at St. Andrew's College.  . . . As a man who was good and true as steel no other meed of praise can increase his worth. The son of a soldier, he died a soldier's death. AA
