Enlisting at the end of 1915 and sailing 22nd May, 1916, as second lieutenant with reinforcements, served with battn. at the Somme, Bullecourt and Messines, being Intelligence Officer at the time of his death. Promoted lieutenant, 5th February, 1917. Invested with M.C.* at Buckingham Palace. Killed in Action, Messines, 7th June, 1917. Commemorated in Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial. Member of S.U. Scouts
