Law : Captain, 13th Battn., A.I.F., Gallipoli and France. Enlisting 16th December, 1914, and sailing n th February, 1915, as second-lieutenant, joined battn. in Egypt and served at Gallipoli from the Landing until the Evacuation, though slightly wounded 1st September, and returned to Australia 7th May, 1916. Re-embarking 24th January, 1917, rejoined battn. in France 20th April, and fought at 2nd Bullecourt, Messines, Polygon Wood and Hebuterne. Wounded at Polygon Wood, 26th September, 1917, and at Hebuterne by aeroplane bullet 27th March, 1918, evacuated to hospital and demobilised in U.K. 17th December, 1918. Promoted lieutenant, 9th November, 1915; captain, 31st May, 1917. Joined Indian Army as Captain, 31st Punjabi Regt. in December, 1918, resigning and returning to Australia in May, 1920.
