M.C., M.B., Ch.M., F.R.C.S., F.R.A.C.S. : Lieutenant, 7th Bde., A.F.A., A.I.F., France. Enlisting 4th January, 1916, and sailing n th May as gunner 26th Battery, arrived in France in December and attended St. John's Wood Artillery Cadet School from January to April, 1917, being commissioned in May. Then joining 107th Battery, fought till severely gassed near Ploegsteert 14th November and evacuated to hospital. On recovery was attached to Brigade H.Q. from May to November, 1918, serving till demobilisation. Promoted lieutenant, 4th August, 1917. Awarded M.C. at Ypres in September, 1917, and Mentioned in Despatches. A.M.F. : Captain, 1st January, 1923; major, 1st January, 1929; lieutenant-colonel, 15th October, 1934. O.C. 9th A.F.Amb. Tutor in Surgery. Hon. Demonstrator in Anatomy. Early education at Sydney Grammar School.
