B.Arch. : Lieutenant, 1st Battn. and 5th A.L.H. Regt., A.I.F., Gallipoli and France. Enlisting 13th December, 1914, and sailing 8th February, 1915, was lance-corporal, 5th A.L.H. Regt. and invalided from Gallipoli in August. Rejoining regt. in January, 1916, transferred to 1st Battn. as second-lieutenant in March, served till wounded at Pozieres in July, and evacuated to hospital in England. Rejoining battn. in April, 1917, was again wounded at Passchendaele in September, but served until demobilisation. Promoted lieutenant, 12th August, 1916. Early education at Southport School, Q., and Harrow.
