M.B. : Major, A.A.M.C., A.I.F., Egypt and France. Enlisting 23rd April, 1915, and sailing 15th May with reinforcements for No. 1 Australian General Hospital, served at Heliopolis from June, 1915, to March, 1916. Crossing to France with hospital, joined 5th Australian Field Ambulance in July and, after being R.M.O. 18th Battn. for three months, returned to hospital at Rouen. In January, 1917, promoted major and sent to 1st and 3rd A.F.Ambs. and then back to hospital, returning to Australia in December. Early education at Newington College.
