V.D., B.A., LL.B.; Bachelor of Laws and Licencie-en-droit (Paris) : Hon. Captain, 35th Battalion, A.I.F. Volunteering for Active Service 7th August, 1914, was commissioned second-lieutenant, 2nd Battn. A.I.F. in December and promoted lieutenant in January, but retained for Home Defence and Instructional work. Re-commissioned in A.I.F. as second-lieutenant 27th April, 1918, joined 35th Battn. and served mostly on intelligence work attached to British or French armies until invalided, medically unfit for further service, 27th August, 1920. Early education at Woolwich and Fort St. Public Schools.
