M.B., B.S. (Melb.), Lecturer and Demonstrator in Physiology : Surgeon-Commander, R.N.; also Fleet Surgeon, R.A.N. Enlisting 6th August, 1914, served as P.M.O. naval hospital ship  Grantala  at Rabaul and in Pacific till December, being demobilised in February, 1915. Joining R.N. in May, 1917, as staff-surgeon, became surgeon-lieutenant-commander, Harwich Force, North Sea, and surgeon commander on emergency list at the Armistice, and was demobilised at Bermudas. Early education at Hawthorn College, Melbourne.
