Med. : Lieutenant, 7th Battn., Gloucester Regt., Gallipoli, Egypt and Mesopotamia; also 6th A.L.H. Regt., A.I.F., Gallipoli. Enlisting 27th November, 1914, and sailing 21st December with 6th A.L.H. Regt., served with it until 26th July, 1915. Then transferring to the British Army, was commissioned to 7th Battn. Gloucesters, serving with it in Gallipoli, Egypt and Mesopotamia. Promoted lieutenant, 1st July, 1917, and posted to 2nd Battn., serving until the end of the War and later joining Indian Army. Early education at Sydney Grammar School. Later at St. Paul's College.
