Econ. I l l : Sergeant, 56th Battn., A.I.F., France and England. Enlisting 17th March, 1916, and sailing 25th November, attended Officers School, Tidworth. Joining battn. in France 30th April, 1917, was wounded at Bullecourt 5th May, and after convalescence attached to Accountancy Branch, H.Q. London, returning to Australia in January, 1918. Early education at Ayr Academy, Scotland.
