B.V.Sc. : Captain, A.A.V.C., A.I.F., Egypt and France, and 10th Irish Division, Salonika. Enlisting in December, 1914, and sailing as Veterinary Officer in charge of shipment of horses to Egypt in January, 1915, returned immediately. Joining 12th A.L.H. Regt. and sailing again in June, was stationed in Egypt till the end of 1915, being left with remounts for Anzac Corps. Thence was seconded to 10th Irish Division for eight months in Greece and Serbia, returning to Anzac Corps in Egypt, where transferred to 2nd Division 18th September, 1916. Crossing to France, served with Division till 12th October, 1917, and then joined Australian Veterinary Hospital, Calais, whence invalided to Australia, arriving in June, 1918. Mentioned in Despatches. Early education at Sydney Grammar School.
