Enlisting in England as lieutenant in April, 1915, served in France with 57th Field Ambulance, in Egypt with 146th and also as O.C. Centronote (Cholera) Laboratory, Kantara. Promoted captain, April, 1916. Awarded Medaille d''Honneur des Epidemies in August, 1917. Dean of the Faculty of Medicine. Hon. Consultant Surgeon, Prince Henry Hospital. Early education at Melbourne High School and Scotch College. Later at Ormond College.
