Massage : Private, A.A.M.C., A.I.F., Egypt and France. Enlisting 3rd February, 1915, and sailing 25th June with original 1 8th Battn., was in hospital in Egypt when battn. embarked for Gallipoli. Rejoined battn. on recovery, transferred to A.A.M.C. Details, 2nd Divisional Train, but was invalided to hospital again in January, 1916. On recovery went to Details Camp, Tel-el-Kebir, later joining 15th Australian Field Ambulance at Ferry Post. Crossing to France in June, served with it till June, 1918, when transferred to No. 3 Australian General Hospital, Abbeville, remaining there till demobilisation.
