Arts I : Lieutenant, 12th A.L.H. Regt., A.I.F., Palestine. Enlisting 21st June, 1915, and sailing 7th July as second-lieutenant with 13th Reinforcements 6th A.L.H. Regt., joined unit in Egypt 17th January, 1916, and transferred to 12th Regt. on formation 20th March. Served in Sinai as far as Gaza, where wounded 19th April, 1917. Promoted lieutenant, 22nd February, 1916. Died of Wounds, 2nd Battle of Gaza, 20th April, 1917, and was buried in Gaza War Cemetery. Early education at St. Ignatius'' College and Sydney Grammar School.
