Enlisting 13th October, 1915, and sailing on hospital ship
“ Kanowna,” served as stretcher-bearer with 2nd Australian Field
Ambulance at Ypres, Bullecourt, The Somme and elsewhere. Was
chaplain from 16th May, 1917, at Hurdcott and Sutton Veny, and
returned as transport chaplain, arriving in Australia in October, 1918.
Early education at The King’s and Sydney Grammar Schools.
Later at Oxford University, Moore College and St. Andrew’s.
