B.A. (Adel.); Arts : Private, 27th and 22nd Battns. and 22nd Trench Mortar Batty., A.I.F., Gallipoli, Egypt and France. Enlisting 5th February, 1915, and sailing 31st May, served with 27th Battn. at Anzac from August till the Evacuation and then at Suez. Joined 22nd Battery 19th April, 1916, and, crossing to France in June, was with it (and 22nd Battn. from 10th August, 1917), at Armentieres, Somme, Ypres and elsewhere, except for a slight sickness, until wounded at Zonnebeke, 6th October, and evacuated to hospitals in France and England. Thence to Australia, arriving in September, 1918.
