M.D., Ch.B., B.A. (Camb.), L.R.C.P., M.R.C.S., Lecturer in Dentistry : Major, A.A.M.C., A.I.F., Gallipoli, France and England. Enlisting 20th August, 1914, and sailing 10th October as R.M.O. 3rd Battn., was at the Anzac Landing where wounded and evacuated to Egypt, returning to battn. 29th June, 1915. Wounded again at Lone Pine 6th August, evacuated to Ras-el-Tin Hospital, Alexandria, and later transferred to England. On recovery served on staff of Convalescent Hospital, Great Peter St., London, and, crossing to France, at No. 2 Australian General Hospital in July, 1916, and a special hospital at Warloy during Battle of the Somme. Then was with 13th and 3rd Australian Field Ambulances, No. 38 British Casualty Clearing Station, Heilly, and No. 1 A.G.H. till 14th November when transferred to No. 2. In June, 1917, joined No. 1 Australian Dermatological Hospital, Bulford, and in July, 1918, No. 3 A.A.H., Dartford. Returned as Assistant M.O., transport Durham , arriving in November, 1918, appointment being terminated 30th April, 1919. Promoted major, 5th September, 1915. Early education at All Saints’ College, Bathurst, Brentwood Grammar School and Bath College, England.
