The creation  of The RAC Student Magazine in 1897 was largely due two senior students Walter Colebatch and Gilbert Lewis who approached the Housemaster Mr Haslam for approval to publish a College magazine. Mr Lewis was very successful in his farming activities. In 1928, he bought "Balgarup" in Kojonup, WA, and proceeded to transfer all the livestock in "Bundaleer", south Australia to "Balgarup", Kojonup, WA. In 1943, Balgarup had 3600 sheep and 74 cattle.
