M.B., Ch.M.; M.Ch.Orth. (Liv.) : Major, A.A.M.C., A.I.F., Palestine and Egypt. Enlisting in February, 1916, and sailing in October, was sent to 1st A.L.H. Field Ambulance soon after arrival in Egypt in November. Served at El Arish, Sinai, 1st and 2nd Gaza, Beersheba and various engagements round Ramleh and Jaffa, sometimes, especially during reconnaissance, acting as R.M.O. 1st A.L.H. Regt., till March, 1918. Then was surgeon at No. 2 Australian Stationary Hospital, Ismailia and Moascar, till March, 1919, when returned for demobilisation. Mentioned in Despatches. Early education at Hillgrove Public and Fort St. High Schools. Later at St. Paul's College with one year in Arts.
