M.B., Ch.M.; F.R.C.S. (Edin.), F.R.A.C.S. : Lieutenant, R.A.M.C., Mesopotamia. Enlisting in London in April, 1915, was sick in Malta Hospital for five weeks and then served as Surgeon Specialist, 23rd Stationary Hospital, Indian Expeditionary Force (D), in 1916, returning to Australia ill in July. Hon. Consultant for Radium, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. Early education at St. Joseph's and St. Aloysius' Colleges.

He gave £1000 for a lectureship in Italian at the university Published widely on gamma radiation through metallic radium. In World War II he served with the R.A.M.C. in 1940-45; promoted lieutenant-colonel, he was appointed an additional president of medical boards of Eastern Command in Britain based on Colchester, Essex.
