D.S.O., M.B., F.R.A.C.P. : Lieutenant-Colonel, A.A.M.C., A.I.F., Gallipoli, Palestine and Egypt. Enlisting in October, 1914, and sailing 24th December, served at the Anzac Landing with 4th Australian Field Ambulance and till the end of August, 1915, when appointed D.A.D.M.S. Joined 2nd A.L.H. F.Amb. 14th August, 1916, and became A.D.M.S., Egypt, 20th November, serving until demobilisation. Promoted major, 8th June, 1916; lieutenant-colonel, 18th September, 1917. Awarded D.S.O. 3rd June, 1918, and Mentioned in Despatches twice. Early education at Sydney Grammar School.
