Grenville Coll., Ballarat, and Ballarat Art School; became a teacher at Ballarat Art School, and a lecturer at Teachers' Coll.; a good cricketer, footballer, and golfer.
Enlisted February 1916; passed through Officers' School, and sailed as 2/Lt. 20th How. Bde. on 3.10.16; joined 6th Bty. Heavy Arty. in France; wounded in Flanders 3.8.17 and invalided to England; rejoined unit 7.12.17; promoted Lieut.; again seriously wounded and gassed. Awarded M.C.
