L.F.P.S. Glasgow; some time attd. Naval Brigade as Surgeon; joined A.A.M.C. in 1897; awarded V.D. for long service; a keen follower of cricket and angling, and a fine shot.
On outbreak of war appointed to command No. 1 A.S.H.; sailed at end of 1914; Mudros March 1915, and mentioned in Sir Ian Hamilton's Despatches for his work there; invalided to Australia, and appointment terminated 28.2.16. After convalescence served on medical boards, but never regained full health, and was sent to Caulfield Mil.
