During convalescence was Assistant Adjutant in charge of Engineers Training Depot, Brightlingsea, till April, 1918, when returned to coy., remaining there in charge of all survey work and coy. equipment until demobilisation. Awarded M.C.* at Hermies. City Engineer, Newcastle. Early education at New Brighton (England), Subiaco (W.A.), Wentworthwille and Hurstville Public and Sydney High Schools. * Accompanied by one man, he succeeded in capturing a party of six of the enemy.
