Rejoining 1st Ambulance 28th August, was with it at Rafa and 2nd Gaza and with 4th from 23rd April, 1917, at Beersheba, Jerusalem, Damascus, Homs and until demobilisation. Promoted major, July, 1917; lieutenant-colonel, 24th February, 1919. Awarded M.C. 1st January, 1918, and Mentioned in Despatches.
