Enlisting 6th September, 1915, and sailing 11th October, served with No. 3 Australian General Hospital at Mudros from 30th November till the Evacuation and then at Abbassia, Brighton and Abbeville. Was M.O. 5th Artillery Brigade from 15th December, 1916, to 18th November, 1917, although wounded at Noreuil Valley 13th April. Transferring to 5th Australian Field Ambulance 29th November, 1917, was with it till appointed D.A.D.M.S. 2nd Division 2nd February, 1919, demobilising in England 2nd January, 1920, and returning to Australia 6th January, 1922. Promoted major, 1st January, 1918. Mentioned in Despatches. Demonstrator in Obstetrics.
