Transferring to 5th Australian Field Ambulance 29th November, 1917, was with it till appointed D.A.D.M.S. 2nd Division 2nd February, 1919, demobilising in England 2nd January, 1920, and returning to Australia 6th January, 1922. Promoted major, 1st January, 1918. Mentioned in Despatches. Demonstrator in Obstetrics.
