Posted to 36th Battn. in Australia in March, 1916, served with it and 3rd Division H.Q. in England till February, 1917, and, transferring to 4th Battn., joined it in France in April and fought at Demicourt, Bullecourt, Zonnebeke, Passchendaele, Strazeele, Hazebrouck and Amiens. Commanded 1st Training Battn. in England from October to December, 1918, and Training Brigade Concentration Depot from January to June, 1919, later returning for demobilisation.
