Returning to Australia, re-embarked 10th May, joined 3rd Australian Field Ambulance 16th August, and was R.M.O. 2nd Artillery Brigade from 10th September at Ypres, Messines Ridge, Hazebrouck and the Somme till death. Awarded M.C.* 18th January, 1918, and Mentioned in Despatches. Killed in Action near Peronne, 3rd October, 1918, and buried in Roisel Communal Cemetery Extension. Early education at Cooerwull Academy.
