After the Evacuation was invalided to hospital, and on recovery, transferred to 14th A.F.Amb. on formation of 5th Division, crossing with it to France in June and serving at Fleurbaix, Somme, Hindenburg Line, Bullecourt, Ypres, Messines, Villers-Bretonneux and elsewhere until demobilisation. Promoted corporal, 31st May, 1916, and sergeant, 23rd July; quartermaster- sergeant (W.O. II), 6th October, 1918.
