Son of Ludovic Blackwood,  joined the Uni Scouts. He embarked on Medic on 30 Dec 1915, went to France with field ambulance.  Septic foot.   Gun shot wound to left arm July 1916.  Briefly in English hospital before being returned to action.  Penalised for AWL Sept 1916.  Died from gunshot wound to right leg 2 December 1916.  Buried in cemetery attached to hospital Heilly France.

Killed in Action, the Somme, 2nd December, 1916, and buried in Heilly Station Cemetery. The Blackwood home was Ellangowan 1 Stewart St Glebe.  While his son was overseas Ludovic settled at Beecroft.
