Field Ambulance one month before Beersheba. During Advance to Jerusalem was in charge of Anzac Receiving Station and then O.C. 2nd A.L.H.F.Amb. till demobilisation. Promoted major, 14th November, 1916, lieutenant-colonel, n th November, 1918. Awarded D.S.O. 12th December, 1919, and Mentioned in Despatches. Early education at Mudgee Grammar School and Barker College.
