Not listed in the Roll of Active Service but mentioned in the University of Melbourne calendar 1915-1916 as having given Home Service by accepting a seat on the New Industries Committee, was a member of the Committee to send munition workers to Great Britain and a consulting member . of the Federal Munitions Committee.
He was also appointed to Commonwealth government committees concerned with munitions and aircraft construction during the war. [ADB entry]
