Short description
L S Brown Applied for a Commission as Lieutenant on 5 September 1915. He was working at the time in a clerical capacity with Geo. Wills & Co. in Adelaide and was studying at University of Adelaide for a Diploma in Commerce. He was deployed to 32nd Battalion. He had been serving with the Citizens' Forces as a Sergeant.
L.S. Brown embarked from Adelaide on HMAT Miltiades on 7 February 1916. He served until hostilities ceased on 11 November 1918.
On 14 October 1917 he was severely censured for causing - negligently, self-inflicted wounds, resulting from ignorance of precautions necessary in dealing with hand grenades. He was later tried for this. He received his discharge from military service in U.K. on 30 May 1919.
