Adelaide University students gathered to say farewell to Douglas Mawson (seated) before departure with Australasian Antarctic Expedition (1911-1914). Dr Douglas Mawson was COmmander of the Expedition, and later, as Sir Douglas Mawson, wrote an account of the expedition in a book titled "The Home of the Blizzard".
